|The Autumn Palace on Moika. Saint-Petersburg|
(2014, oil on canvas, 35 x 40 cm)
There was a time when the spire of the German reformatory church was two meters lower than Peter and Paul... The German community has been and remains an important, valuable and irreplaceable in St. Petersburg in all time. So, Sergey Opuls - a descendant of the Latvian Germans – has always seen the German mark in our city, and he favours for revival of the shrines of any nationality.
We are confident that after Opuls twice painted DC of Connection in the form of a restored German church, it will certainly be restored in the near future. And its spire will be faded in the autumn mist of St. Petersburg becoming to every attentive passer-by a fragile bridge between the groung of tired city and carefree pink skies of eternal joy...
The premiere of the painting was at the exhibition "Two Kolomna" (Youth House "Record", SPb, December 2014 - March 2015).
The painting was involved in a personal exhibition of Sergey Opuls "The Easter Light" CDC "The Seagull", Kupchinskaya st., April 1 - 10, 2016.
